My cat threw up two times 10 days ago. He has kidney disease and chronic pancreatitis so we give him Mirtazipine (every 4 days) to help with his appetite. Mirt causes him to cry in a whiny voice, but it only lasts (off-and-on) for less than six hours. Instead of his usual meowing, he started talking in a mouse-squeaking voice. And now, it is barely a squeak. The vet said the raspy sound seems to be coming from his throat so gave him an antibiotic last Saturday. There hasn't been a change. One time before, he lost his voice and I started him on an antacid (which he still takes) and his voice came back. Any thoughts? Suggestions? Thank you.
