Great question. You must be reading my mind! I want to know as well. There are two pet stores here that sell cats and they look horrid (cold in eye) etc. Also, I heard they don't sell fast because well kittens are a dime a dozen and is there a market for purebred kittens? (I want one!)(Exotic Shorthair) Are there stricter guidelines within their registries?
Chick, The pet shop at the mall where I live sells cats. I saw some real pretty Persian cats there the other day. They have quite a few cats roaming around in the front dispaly window. I am not sure what breed they are.
Where I live not very many people are into purebred cats, most just want a pet, and there are so many of those free around her because most people won't get their cat's spayed, you can't even give away a kitten here, much less sale any kind in a pet store. If I was you I would search the internet for a good breeder in your area.
where i live here in pittsburgh, i get my kitties at a pet supply stores actually, the dont make any money on these pets, they are attended by rescue people and you only pay for the shots they have had, they arent into making money. But i like the everyday domestic house cat, i dont know anything about purebreed cats...... but anyway PetSmart and Petco here in Pittsburgh sell alot of domestic cats. If you want just a great cute kitty try Petsmart.com.......
the two petstores in the malls closest to me are different. one sells puppies, kittens, ferrerts, birds, reptiels, fish everthing, and the other one sells rodents, fish, and some kittens. i duno maybe it just varies on the petstore
