did you go to the show ? scout and i went. she passed her temperament test. she got an outstanding score on the noisy bucket phase and the rest of the scores were in the high average range. the judge was pleased but warned me they are a very slow maturing breed so if she ever shows any aggression i should have her retested. like that will ever happen :) the cane corsos were a lot shorter in height than i was thinking. i think i have only seen 1 before , many years ago, and i thought that dog was much taller. i was listening to a guy talking about american bred dogs, which he breeds. he seemed to like dogs with subsatnce. which i personally like the finer boned examples. some of them had huge heads. there was a dog there that was like a grey brindled color. he was a very pretty color. i also heard some people making reference to a dog named tuscan. is he like a big wig in the corso world ?there were many other breeds there. dogue de bordeauxs, tibetan mastiffs, dogo argentino's and some long haired sighthounds which i am not sure what they were. scout and i left at 1 pm. i had such a bad sinus headache i couldn't stay there any longer. we got there at 8:30 am. sorry i missed you if you were there. i kept looking for a woman with a black t shirt on but it seemed like black was the color choice for everyone there that day.
Hey Scout, Yeah we were there. It was a good show. I looked for you too and your right there was alot of black shirts there. Yeah Corso's are not as big as people think they are and that is one thing I like about them. I really didn't get to see much of the ATT testing, but I love see all the different breeds there. More than ever I want a Dogue. They are sooooo pretty. Yeah Tuscan is a very famous dog in the Corso world. Congrats on Scout's test. I knew she could do it. I can't wait to start showing Donata. It looks like alot of fun. There was alot of nice people there but alot of stuck up ones too. I guess you find that everywhere. I am fighting a horrible cold right now so I have been off and on. Sorry I missed your post.
thanks on the grats. maybe there was something at the show we both caught. i was fine when i left the house and as the morning went on i got worse. i still feel like crud but better. i know what you mean about the various types of people at these shows. scout and i were ringside and a woman came up to us and asked us to turn around when she was in the ring with her argentino dogo cause he didn't like to be stared down. then she proceeds to ask me if scout is an akbash. i tell her no that she is an anatolian and she responds oh that is even more exotic. okay lady. then we almost got eaten by a 130 pound saint bernard - in my own car no less. luckily scout is as docile as they come otherwise we would have had a big problem. and a ton of blood all over my car !! i feel so bad we didn't connect. i tried to stay around the ring away from the crowds hoping i would be easy to spot. oh well. maybe we'll hook up when you start showing baby d. hope you feel better :)
The dog next door is ok. She is alittle beat up. A few scrapes and puncture wounds. They didn't take her to the vet. I talked to them today and told they they really need to watch her for infection and that she needs to be on a antibotic. I don't think they will do anything. Ruby is not in trouble anymore. Sometimes though she acts like she is retarded. Like when everyone is outside and I call them in she will just stand there and act like I am speaking a foreign language. It is like she doesn't understand anything I am telling her but it has been the same routine since she was 8 weeks old. She does the same thing at night when everyone goes in their crates. She will just stand there. But let there be food involved and she is the first one in. Scout yeah I found alot of the people to be rude and "know it alls" it is like I didn't know anything about dogs. But there were alot of nice people there as well. Anyway it was a good weekend but a long one. I still haven't recovered from the trip. And the cold doesn't help. And to top it all off I got bit by something. I am not sure what but some kind of bug. It bit me on my side almost under my arm in three different places. It is swelled up really big and hurts like hell. It hurts to even move my arm.
