There were two masses found. The large one is 12.9 cinimeters and is attached to the spleen then there is a small one in the mesintery (not sure of spelling) which is attached to the lining of cells that holds all of the intestines in place, just post terior, (towards the tail) from the stomach. No sign to metatises to the kidneys or liver. Butch will have his operation at 2:00 p.m. est this afternoon. I was told that everything is looking good. This is such great news.
I was told that Butch would go into surgery at 2:00 p this afternoon. At 5:05 p Butch was out of surgery. The doctor said that he was stable through the entire surgery and she was impressed. They removed an 8 pound tumor (which was seeping periodically and there were blood clots) attached to his spleen which they also removed. They also removed the smaller mass. Everything went well. I was told at 9:00 p.m. that he was awake. That he would hold his head up to watch everyone for a few minutes then put his head back down. They do not have him in a kennel as of now. Again, they told me he was doing well. My husband will be going to visit him early tomorrow morning and will be bringing him chicken and rice and some chicken broth to eat. He is on IVs, and whatever else they need to keep him on now. Butch made it today. And, I do believe in miracles. This board is a miracle. On Saturday, when I found this news out about Butch and was told he had a 25% chance to live, I did not know what I was going to do but I knew I wasn't going to accept the fact that he could die on me. Not without a fight. I sat in front of my computer that day, and was at my search engine and didn't know where to begin. I put in my search, not knowing what would show up, and TerrificPets.com appeared. I clicked on this website to see what it was about, and decided to post. Thank you Scout. Thank you everyone. For being there. Without the advice that I received from you, Scout, and the words of encouragement from many more, I would have never have thought to have Butch's chest x-rayed or an ultrasound done. You became Butch's Guardian Angel. And to me, that is a miracle. He is alive. He is going to recover even though he had this major operation and it will take some time, but time is now on his side. I will always be grateful to everyone who took the time out to help me through this. Thank you all again. I hope to post a picture of Butch on dogster.com (if I can do it correctly). I had Butch's picture put in jpg form at work, and emailed it to myself. Now I have go figure how to save it to my c:drive in order to post it on dogster. Regards
That is so wonderful to hear. I too believe things come to us at a time when we most need it. I'm glad you found the board and hope you will stay. Please keep us posted on how Butch is doing and best of luck to you. Now, about dogster. I am not good with computers and I figured it out, so it must not be too hard. Let us know when you get it posted. Looking forward to seeing him. http://photobucket.com/albums/v497/Ginas67tx/

I think it is sooo wonderful to see this board being used for what it was meant to do. Help people, share ideas, and if we are lucky make new "animal crazy" friends. I am so happy for you and Butch. I wish you both many more years together. Tara
Seabreeze, How is Butch doing today? I am so happy to hear a great ending to this story. It is wonderful that you found this sight and Scout and the others helped you. That is what TP is all about. (It's not always about fighting and bickering.) ~tears in my eyes~ * *,
