For the one year Sam was part of my family, he freely gave love, protection, doggy kisses and discovered grass for the first time. He went to sleep, for the last time, under a big tree in the backyard..his health was failing, and he picked his time to go. His face reflected peace and no struggle. I do miss him, but know that I was able to give him a year of living and loving...something he may have never known.
