Oh my Girls...

Tips and Sandy were two of the best dogs a family could have ever had.

Sandy loved to patrol and lay quietly under the trees all day long in the backyard. And yet, she would put up one of the greatest shows of being a guard dog, with her strut and tail high up in the air but once that was all over, she would rather lick you to death.

Tips was loyal to our family, while Sandy did her ‘dance’ in the backyard when the two of you heard a noise or saw someone; Tips would immediately look to see where and if her family was safe and stand guard. She was very gentle with our dear old Nana, extremely quiet when she was in the kitchen looking for stuff on the floor, herd the local kids when they came to play in the yard... but over all, she was very lovable. She even thought she was a lap dog. Tips was always there by your side when you were sick, happy and feeling blue. She knew her family and their dynamics very well…she was SO SMART!

Sadly, Sandy was put down at 14 years from battling cancer in November 2005. Tips followed her with a broken heart Christmas Eve at the age of 15 years. She went to my mom and dad, gave them both a nudge with her nose for a pet and a kiss, then went to her spot, laid down….and later died.

My girls died when I was overseas living. I did not get the chance to bid them my farewells…or to tell them, yet again and again, that they were two of the best dogs I could have ever dreamed of having while growing up.

Thank-you for being my best friends! Rest in Peace Girls… I love you Both so very much!
