Honey 10/12/94-1/25/2008

Honey came to our family from North Shore Animal Shelter on Oct 12th 1994; she was a skinny little thing hiding under the benches in the walk area. My sister and I feel in love with her and just had to take this Siberian Husky/German Shepherd home.

Honey was married to a black lab, Storm from up the street and she would jump up trees and play dress up. She was my best friend, she knew when you were upset and would sit next to you and put her head on your knee, when you were sick, she spend the day by your side, she watched TV and would go places with my sister and I. She acted like a person.

And it was a small fatty bump that the vet over looked that killed her.

The fatty nothing kept getting bigger and the vet we were going to kept saying it was nothing and would give her meds to control it. Finally we took her back to North Shore and they told us it was too late already and it should’ve been taken out when it first showed up. She didn’t have a lot of time left, we took her to one of the best vets in the area, Dr. Howell of Yonkers, he did everything he could to make her time comfortable and couldn’t believe that her aside from the fatty bump growing on her chest she was like a 8yr old dog, not a dog that was going to be 14 yrs old in May. It got to the point were a few months turned into a few days, a week at tops because the bump kept growing, it was going to pop, according to the wonderful Dr. Howell.

On January 25th 2008 we had to put my dog, my best friend Honey down. Dr. Howell said she went peacefully and he said she just let go and went in a few seconds.

I know she’s in a better place now and is still with us at times.

She led us to the 2 shelties we have now, that we're born within days of her death. Tristan and Cheyenne are gifts from Honey.

Anyone living in Scarsdale NY...STAY AWAY FROM SCARSDALE ANIMAL HOSPITAL. Dr. Z said it was just a little fatty bump that was nothing to worry about...yea right!!!
