In loving memory of Copper Lightning Flash
Copper our Basset Hound will be greatly missed! I got him for my oldest son on his 7th birthday, 8 years ago this coming April. Alex could not decide on what his name should be...Copper, from Fox and the Hound, Lightning, because of white mark on his back that resembled lightning, or Flash because of the Basset on The Dukes of Hazard. So Alex told us that he would just have three names. We had to laugh at what he called his "middle" and "last" name because everyone knows that most Bassets are not very fast!!! Well Copper lived up to his name, when he got out of his pen to run he ran as fast as those short legs would carry him with his big floppy ears flapping in the wind behind him. It was quite a sight to see my son try and catch him even after he was much older. Alex did say to me one day after many attempts to get him caught, "I thought Bassets were supposed to be lazy!" The only way it could be done was to start the car and let him hop in.
Unfortunately last night when I got home and went to the back yard to bring Copper in for the night I found that he had passed away. We will NEVER forget our BEST FRIEND!!!! We will love you ALWAYS!!!!!!
