this gave me comfort
I lost 2 dogs last year and someone sent me this poem which did help with the grief. I hope it will help anyone who has lost a good friend.
Wake me not from this deep sleep for I am running free, Through soft green grass and new mown hay
And sunbeams dancing in the spray of salt winds from the sea.
Wake me not from this deep sleep bsck to a world of pain.
My eyes were dim, my bones were old.
My blood was thin, I felt the cold,
But here, I'm young again.
So wake me not from this last sleep
But through the coming years,
Remember me from day to day where puppies cry and puppies play
And smile through your tears.
