We only had you for a year and a half. That was the best year and a half of my 23 years. You know you became my life. My companion, my confidant, my everything. Sadly you were taken away from us on October 17, 2009. Why did you have to jump the fence? Of course, you always did what you wanted. And we would always chase after you and get you to come back. But that day was different. Someone wanted you up there. So they sent a gray SUV to summons you. You didn't suffer, it was so hard, it was instant. But now we don't get to see you anymore. You're not at the window watching people and their dogs walk by. You're not chirping after squirrels in the back yard. You're not howling in your sleep. Your couch is cold.
Happy memories and ashes are all that's left of you. We can finally think of you and smile. And we don't cry anymore. You will forever be in my heart, and my skin. Always and forever. See the "effex" you had on us? The name suited you perfectly and we didn't even know it.
