My Sissy!!
You came to us so fearful. Shaking and afraid of everything, and already 4 years old. Within a week the bond was there. You protected your own. You protected mommy and you protected my babies. You always did what you were asked, and always without complaint or any defiance. You barked and growled when something wasn't right. You knew when someone came to the door that could be a threat to your family. Last Saturday I knew you were bad. I wanted to make you better but mommy couldn't. I wanted to hug you forever and stay with you past the point of you being gone. I am sorry Mommy couldn't fix this. I am so sorry. You found enough strength to hop off my lap and out of my arms to get down and pull me towards the door. This after really not wanting to walk anymore. Sissy I am sorry. I hope you know I wish I could have fixed what was wrong. I will miss you running and playing with the kids in the summer months. I will miss walking in the yard and throwing sticks for you to chase, till you are tired out. I will miss the stance you took when you wanted to mess with me and play. It hasn't been a week yet and it's not getting better. I am waiting for the vet's office to call me to tell me to come and bring your cremains home. I want you home. I begged God to take care of you. I asked the girls to watch over you in Heaven. Emily asked me why God let this happen. I told her that maybe her sisters needed you to play with now. My Sissy, I want to wake up in the morning to find you home and here and waiting to go out to go potty. I want to take you to get groomed. I want everything we have lost back. You were just a dog, but my heart is aching and as I watched your eyes go so dim, you died looking like my baby who we loved so much. Ears up and ready to play. I wasn't able to protect you. I wasn't able to stop this. I knew you wanted to go home and all I could do to make sure you wouldn't get more sick, was let you go. I love you so much baby!!
