You know, this whole thing frustrates me because that Atomic person always talks about 'maturity' and 'being an adult' and they have posted more rude, condescending, arguementative, posts and replies than they have nice ones. It's just so hypocritical and juvenile to me. I think if you have to curse to get your point across, that you're not being 'mature' about anything...

Here I am the mom of 4 collies...I am sickened by that puppy mill. If you want to see some ..thank goodness.. good work done by collie rescue at some puppy mills look up AWCA which is American WOrking Collie Assoc. In the year or so they have rescues over 150 collies from that type of gross abuse.

I thought the first link was bad though I have seen it before I think but the second one was just I cannot say here onthis forum because there are young kids here but oh boy what I was not hollering while watching it. THIS makes me sick!!! I cried so hard I could not breath! I would never ever hit an animal like that much lkess shoot one! OMGosh! That was horrible. What did that guy expect the dog to do of course they are going to bite when fighting for their lives! I am surprised he was even trying to weigh them to begin with! Someone tell me this man is in jail please!!!

We took the owner of the puppy mill we got our dog from to court..Sat there with all the proof inthe world, and after 9 hours all he got was a fine of $55 for expired tags. Then he had the nerve to say he wanted his "breeder" back. We almost ended up in jail. Our vet was with us and he told the nut the dog had been spayed and over all of our dead bodies would he get her back,
About 6 months later they raided him again and all the dogs were dead.
That's Mississippi for you....

We had a beautiful collie when I was younger. She was awesome with my son. My brother had to move and left her with a friend and she disappeared. We never saw her again. I really still miss that dog. My lady was beautiful.

I haven't been on this forum for long. So I may be out of line here but....(Gotta love the buts) .....Atomic Dog you are very confusing. I have seen you post some intelligent answers to people who are in need of information on breeding dogs and what a responsible breeder is all about. Then I see you tell children it is okay to breed when they have no idea what it entails. That it is okay to breed for money to live on. Now your apparent disgust of people posting information and pictures on the horrors of puppymills. What I am thinking is you are a puppymiller. That these topics hit close to home for you and that is the reason for your hostility on this thread. I believe it is quite obvious what you are and you will meet with much hostility on any forum of people who actually love their animals. This may not be the best forum for you, unless you enjoy "stirring the pot" so to speak. Do you have a website or pictures of your dogs that you could share ?

Pitsanddobes, I'm not sure which video it was that you are refering too as there are so many, however if it was the one about the broker C.C. Baird then yes. Fines amounted to $262,700, the largest fine ever imposed by the USDA, which included a personal civil penalty of $12,700. The licenses of C.C. Baird, his wife, and their two daughters, have all been permanently revolked.

I know it sounds like a slap on the wrist.....

Oh, C.C. Baird is on heck of a charming example of a walking pile of human excrement. That kind of guy puts shame into a person- for being of the same species.

The $250,000 fine? Baird's kennel (which bought their breeding stock from bunchers who pick up "Free Dog/Cat" pets and steal them off the streets to sell at auction [NEVER put a "free pet" ad in the paper- these guys are SNEAKY- and can fool most people into thinking they're a loving family looking for a pet, employing their own kids and grandkids in the lies] and sold their offspring to research labs) routinely turned over $100K a year... and was in business for over 15 years.

And guess what? After the 5 years of probation- those delightful Bairds can start legally owning animals again.

I'm SOOO happy for the people who can brush this all off without so much as a second thought- but C.C. Baird was just one in thousands. This is ongoing. It won't stop until people push for stronger legislation, vote in legislators that believe that this treating living creatures like this is WRONG.

The existance of people like Baird make believing in a just god HARD.

hector it makes your journal more "believable" to people who don't believe that those things happen. when you are writting on something you have to have the proof to back it up. i can see where a person would want proof- because some people don't beleve anyone can be that %%^^(^%$$#@$%&*(&^#$%*(!!
remember when you are posting something like this that the more proof you have to back it up the more believable it is. think about it like you are turning in a paper at school your teacher will make you have proof.
