My big boy, Keeper, will only poop on bushes. And usually, it has to be a bush at the park, as for some reason our ample yard is not good enough. He spends eons looking for the "perfect" bush, and I swear, he can hold it 24 hours until said bush comes along. We call him the Mysterio Pooper as we never have to pick up his poop. What about you?
I don't know if it is 'weird' but we have suddenly noticed a new habit of Floyd's...
The other day Leigh said to me "why did you push bread down the back of the couch?????" as he was holding up a sad looking piece of bread. And I said "What the...?" Then we proceeded to find Floyd's treat stash down the back of the cushions of the couch we sit on EVERY day. What a goose!
We caught him putting his bone shaped treat down there yesterday. He's in the house all day so I suppose he has to bury his "bones" somewhere!!
Shadow puts her head and paws, and entire front half of her body (SIDEWAYS) on the floor when she first sees me, her back up sticks straight up, and her tails wags really fast. I gotta get a pic, never saw a dog do that before. She always does.
Reese doesn't do anything strange that I can think of off hand.
But Grace does this wierd thing with bugs. If she sees a bug on the ground, she will kneel down and smash it with the side of her face. First one side of her face and then the other. The more smashed the bug gets, the better she likes it.
My last dog Cortez was a glutton. Leave the BBQ unattended and you would be out more hot dogs, brats, burgers, etc than you could count. Kid sharing his ice cream gone!! Until my "health revolution" I had a well stocked junk food drawer. You name it , it was in there. The ONLY thing he took out of that drawer were Reese's Peanut Buttercups. I obviously know all about the dangers of chocolate...but he was 140lbs and loved peanut butter. Never had alot in there, couldn't keep em in stock.
My dobe does the bush thing too! but it doesn't have to be a bush, if he finds a tree he likes it works just as well:) He has to poop with a leg up too! He's such a weirdo. When he was a pup he would only go on this piece of wood in the backyard. It was up against the barn and he would half climb up it and like perch.
Mandy has always gone and got one of her babies (toys) and carried it after she eats. She will do this and whine at the same time. She has a little lamb chop she likes best, but she will carry any of her babies. Now, she has got Tina into doing it. So, when they get through eating they both go get a baby and walk the house whinning. Max just jumps upon the couch to go back to sleep and looks at them like they fell out of the nearest tree somewhere.
Sometimes we give Georgie a edible Nylabone or a dental bone. There is one kind she particularly likes and if she doesn't finish it she will walk around trying to hide it and whining and will dig in her crate and then in her other bed under my husband's desk. She keeps hiding it and then deciding it isn't a good place and then rehides it.
She sometimes will hide a treat and go back for it later too.
Kai puts his tennis balls under the recliner and they get stuck where he can't reach them. He then digs and digs at the side of the recliner until I get up and get it for him. I can't convince him that his little game is no fun.
Alex panics if he is outside and a bee comes near him. He will look in the sky and start jumping around and snapping as if he is getting swarmed then runs for the door to go inside. Also, Alex will not walk over anything. If a pile of laundry or a cat is in his way to the door, he will stop and wait for you to move them before he will walk. It's funny because he is a big dog and could easily step over things. He just won't! A funny thing my kitty, Kayla will do is...when Alex is outside to do his business, Kayla waits at the door meowing loudly until we come back inside. When I open the door, she takes off zigzagging and trips Alex as he's coming in the door. She does this every time.
I have a Yorkie (Bear) and a Great Dane (Zeek). If Zeek is ever laying down where Bear can reach him, Bear will lick Zeek's lips forever. I don't know what it is...I guess he likes the taste of his food. But he will just sit there and lick Zeek's huge floppy lips until he moves. And Zeek loves being chased by Bear. A 4 lb dog chasing a 130 lb dog...it's great.
Mazel has A LOT of crazy habits, one of my favorites is likes to kick her kibble across the room and then hunt it down and devower it.
She also likes to hord things, she goes around the house and gets all of her things and puts them into a pile, she also sometimes adds other things she likes, like socks, paper, other small objects. Then she stands guard over it, or sleeps on it
sometimes she gets us to build her a fort out of pillows and then puts her things inside.
