Hi there guys, the updated pics of the pups are trickling in, I've uploaded the ones for Athena, the little girl who lives on the miniature horse farn in NH to her dogster page. She is not only a guardian/companion to her people (including 2 small children), but to the horses as well!
Her "human mom" sent me these photos, apologizing for the needed bath, but I am so tickled to see her in action with one of the horses I just HAD to share.
Gee and all MY guys guard is the food dish! No, seriously, they DO look after the house and yard and are very protective of the grandchildren. Perhaps I should add a few sheep to the backyard, just to keep them entertained???? Woulnd't the neighbors just LOVE that?!

TY, I just love the ones where she's chasing the horse and then the horse is chasing her! lol~ since they're almost the same size, her owner says it's sometimes difficult to determine which is which when they're all out in the pasture!
Pyrs are guardians, of whatever or whomever their flock consists of. If they have "critters" to protect, that's what they will do, but in the case of most of my litter, the ONLY critters they have are the 2 legged kind.
Beau and Arwen, Angel too when she was with us, are very protective of the grandchildren.
If you placed one of the infants on the floor on a blanket, they'd lie about a foot away and watch over the baby. We were constantly alerted to dirty diapers that way~grin.
When the kids are here, you can be sure you will find the furkids right in the midst of them!
those dogs are absolutely GORGEOUS!!!!! when i was growing up in Eden Prarie my neighbors had pyr's and i fell in love with them, i visited everyday. they are just like big teddy bears. congratulations on such beautiful looking creatures
minpin mom I was just trying to let the fur settle a bit (so to speak). Never meant to give the impression that I was leaving forever, sorry.
I SHOULD be out working on the dog's run, weeds need beating into submission in the one grassy area. I am being lazy, totally. Only managed to get the porch clean and new patio set out there today. Think I've hit home repair burn out : - )
mforbes, you're right they are big, loving and gentle teddy bears that shed a ton, dig giant craters and notify everyone within earshot of approaching danger (like butterflys, leaves, birds), create new designs on your tile floors and can steal your heart in the blink of an eye! lol
