a few weeks ago my husband borrowed a rototiller from a freind so he could do some stuff to our yard. it has been sitting unthreateningly in our yard for two weeks. no one has given it a second glance, that is until today when it moved !!!!! i was out front on our porch with salty when my husband came around with the rototiller. salty growled at it and went and bit its tire. when the evil rototiller did not stop moving she went and attacked it from the front !!! she was successful in stopping the advancing attack from the rototiller and didnt get injured from biting the blades, phew !!!!
thank you salty, who knows what our fate would have been had you not stopped that evil, mean rototiller !!! =)
This is why I don't mow the lawn. This stuff is dangerious, you never know when its going to turn on you. I don't care how safe and "tame" people say their gardening and lawn equipment is, stories like this remind me that these are still tools designed to cut and slice, and their natures are not changed by an on/off switch.
Rototillers, gardening equipment, coffee makers. My dogs are either lazy or don't care or scared. Lady is scared to death of the vacume and you'd think she'd be used to it since I have to vacume almost every day!
Thank God you are OK Scout. If it hadn't been for Salty you could have been tilled on your birthday. What is up with biting the wheels? Muffin does that to our lawnmower. Cricket is terrified of the vacuum like Gina said Lady is. Even if it isn't running. We are so lucky to have these protectors.
Cody is the same, the lawn equipement doesn't bother him but bring on the vacuum and for about 10 mins. he does his best to make it stop and go away. He keeps looking at me as if to say "I'm trying, help me it won't go away and leave us alone" Don't dogs do the cutiest things! He isn't to fond of my Ice Tea maker but that one he only keeps cocking his head from side to side and looking at me with the questioning look in his eyes. Have a great day everyone!
Kiba will bark at the vacuum for a couple of minutes. She also goes crazy if someone if raking outside. She'll bark and growl at the rake and bite it and I think trying to take it away. Maybe she's just protecting her precious leaves... who knows.
Yeah Salty!! I think maybe my dogs are to lazy too. Every now and then Fancy freaks out over the vacuum cleaner but she's really the only one. In fact the others I have to physically move when I am vacuuming or they will just lay there like knots on a log!
What a good doggy to protect his family from that evil machine. Georgie would run and hide.
She does bark and charge at balloons. Very afraid of the vacuum cleaner. One time Dan was cleaning our office area and she disappeared. She was in the farthest area she could get to away from the vacuum cleaner between some boxes. All he could see was her little butt sticking out.
I'm with Merico...I'm such a dork...I'm thinking...your DH borrowed a rottie to do some work in the yard?!?!?! Not once did I read it wrong, but twice..until I saw the tire part...I seriously thought you and your family had completley lost it!!
I'm so happy Salty protected you from that devils spawn rottotieller....those things can be pure evil...Whew..good save Salty!
Now I'm emabarrased to say that while Lady is scared of the vacume she doesn't try to protect me she runs to the door to go outside. God forbid it should be raining or something and I don't let her out, she will run from one room to the next to keep ahead of it until I'm done.
Now Aril on the other hand (mind you the 7 lb chi that thinks she's a giant) will stand in front of it and bark her head off. Sometimes I tell her to move or it might suck her up, lol.
wow, where do you people get your protectors from? i think i need one, or a couple. i was being attacked with the vaccuum the other day (my mom was chasing me with it) and where was sandy( my dog).....who knows! and what about when the lawn was being mowed....she was gone then too. oh, and then there's that awful broom that likes to chase me around....and even then she's gone. the only appliance thing i'm safe from is the blow dryer, because my cat mittens attacks it. but as for anything else, i'm left on my own to fend for myself! Sandy is scared of all that kinda stuff, no clue why she's around it all the time, but when she sees one, she runs and hides. so come on people...fess up where do you get your protectors from??? lol
LOL just this afternoon we took the dogs into town with us as we were just going for ice cream, and my english bulldog, Cookie was sitting in the back seat wehn all the sudden a semi truck came up even with our van. She was up in my lap and trying to get our the window just to get that big old bad truck that was just driving next to us. She was just barking and growling and acting all big abd bad, lmao even though she is only a 5 month old 28 pound bully girl. Funny thing is, she was ready to attack that big semi but when it comes to the vacuum or the rug shampooer, it's under my bed everytime, lol. WTG Salty, what would you have done if Salty had not been there, lol?
Salty is a hero!!! She's better than superman! If it hadn't been for her, who knows of the horrible that tiller would have caused. It just goes to show you to never get a tiller. They are untame and evil, and will till your children! Hooray for Salty!
