Does anybody here buy Bully Sticks for their dogs? We have found they are excellent treats for all of our dogs (toy and standard poodles). We were buying them at dog shows but have found their website: http://www.bullysticks.com/ It is much cheaper through the website than at the dog shows. They are high protein with little fat.
everyone on my french bulldog forum raved about bullysticks. so i mentioned that i was going to get some for my dogs. well then they mentioned what they actually were and eeeewww ! bull privates . the feed store where i get my dogs food and supplies carries them so i took the "kids" and went to get some. they keep them in a big basket on the floor. and now rocky(my male frenchie) knows where they are and tries to help himself. the first time i bought them as i was reaching to pick some out, the store owner leaned over and whispered "do you know what those are ?" and i said yep sure do , why do you think i am wearing gloves ! lol
Pig ears gross me out WAY more than bully sticks. Have you seen the tattoos and the little hairs on a pig ear? Talk about EWWW! :)
Bully sticks do on occasion- stink to high heaven, though- the reason I don't get them more often. I have a great dog bakery that offers 5" sticks for $1, though- so never had to resort to online ordering. But yeah- seen them at shows before- and EEK! $3+ for a 4" stick! No way. :)
they had a big basket of pigs ears at the feed store too .i have been told that they are greasy and some dogs get sick from them. but i would have been grossed out if i saw tattoo's and hairs ! bullysticks are on the spendy side.i bought my gsd a big double braided one .it was 4.00 i bought my two frenchies 12' sticks and they were 2.75 each. and after they been chewing for awhile they start to stink. they also had some little sticks made from pig privates they call them pizzles .i think, havent tried them yet .they seemed kind of small and i dont want them choking.
Because we're talking about the same animals that delight in rolling and rubbing their faces in a big ol' cow pie. Why wouldn't the same animal that loves rolling in cow pies enjoy gnawing on pig pizzles or bull borkers.
the only problem i have with the bullysicks, and yes my dogs LOVE them. is that they both want the same one and they will lay down and chew, one on each end.when it gets down to the stump..the fight is on and then i have to throw it away. they dont mess with harleys, our gsd ,because he shows his teeth and they back off. lol .but they will fight each other over the last little piece. so i have to watch them closely when it starts getting short.
I'm sorry but I think I will stink with the puppy biscuits I can get at Walmart. LOL at least those won't gross me out. I don't think I could stomach giving my dogs any private part of any animal, lol despite how much they might enjoy it. But I have never heard of pig pizzles lol that's new to me.
