Hey guys. I hope you understand. This will be the last update. The next time any of us will know anything is when we hear from Scout herself. At the request of her husband Scout's condition and progress will remain a family issue until we hear from her. With all of the recent "problems" going on lately he feels its best this way. She will be back and so far she is doing ok. She will have quite a recovery ahead of her but she will make it. I expect it will be quite a while before we hear from her but the good part is that we will. I have saved every post so I can show them too her when she is home and back on the computer. She appreicates everyones concern and caring words.

Scout1, I know what you're going through because I went through pretty much the same thing 25 years ago. I was broadsided while driving a 1970 Opel GT (poor man's Vette). It didn't have seat belts. He hit me in the passenger side doing about 35-40 mph and knocked me about 150' into a parking lot. Without the seatbelt, I ended up having my face go through the passenger window and back into the drivers seat. Well, 300+ stitches later, a severed jugular vein, and the cranial nerve for my shoulder severed, I survived for some reason. (I now figure so I could father a wonderful son)
I was only in the hospital 2 days. The first night in intensive care where they didn't think I would survive, and the second in a regular room, where they said it was a miracle. It was 2 months before I could wear a shirt over my shoulder because of the nerves regenerating. I have a 6" scar on my neck. I have scars (quite a few) on the right side of my face, forehead, neck, ear, etc.
You survived for a reason! You'll know why at some time!
Damn I go away for a bit and chaos insues...I am glad she'll be okay and I send her good thoughts. I was in a car accident a about a yr ago (if anyone remembers). So I know how painful it is and how hard recovery can be. I hope she heals up soon though. I Thoughts are with her and her family right now, get well soon scout :D.
Thank you Mizzi for all the updates you have given us. They are very much appreciated. I understand why you cannot give any more updates. Thanks again. Scout, get better as quick as you can! We miss you terribly!!
Thank you for the updates. You'll have to tell her for me get lots of rest and get well soon. I have been in a few accidents, thank God they were never severe. I know though it effects the whole family, so I'll pray for all of them.
Thanks Mizzi for keeping us informed and I will respect Scouts families request for privacy. I continue to keep Scout in my prayers for a complete recovery.
I know some of what she is going through. I suffered severe head trauma when a drunk driver hit my car head on in 1980. The state police crime unit reconstructed the accident and felt the impact was over 100 miles per hour, since it happened on a 55 MPH highway.
The drunk was so far over on my side of the road, he hit me head on at the passenger side of the car. The motor was driven up into the front seat. The force of the impact caused my car to roll over 3 times, before coming to rest on the top.
I had massive head injuries, internal injuries, immense bleeding, broken hip, ribs, 5 breaks in my arm and more. My 2 best friends were killed by the drunk and I was the survivor. I still suffer the after affects to this day, 25 years later, but God kept me alive for a reason.
There is so much information that I have lost, maybe forever. Head injuries are strange, you may remember things from long ago and not something that happened a few days ago.
I've lived through it Scout, hang in there girl. May God speed your recovery.
