well i was in holiday with my family, and my aunties dog jst gave birth to her 1st litter of pups 3died 2 lived 1 was called racheal and the other was called goohan one night my cousin was playing with goohan and stood on racheals face ,i swore at my cousin , raheal was bleeding from the nose , my aunty raped the pup up and put her next to the mum (bad thing to do) i told my auty that ill brake its neck but she wouldnt alow me too she throught it would live it died the next day ... i was woundering with the trormatic death of the pup will the mum do get too over protective of her pups than usual in the future ?
You allowed your cousin to play with newborn pups? You didn't rush these pups to the vet? I'm surprised the dog didn't get aggressive towards you and your cousin..this is disturbing...sorry to hear that..

Terrible story... did your cousin step on the pup by accident, or was it done on purpose. I would have never let someone play with young pups in a way where any of them could have gotten hurt. I'm thankful that you still have one pup alive at least and hopefully everyone involved learned something from the incident.
As far as breaking the injured pups neck... while I would have a difficult time doing something like that, I would say it is much more humane to put a pup down rather than let it suffer a slow death. Obviously, the best thing would have been to take it to the vet and have it euthanized, but if there were no vets around or any open, someone needs to be responsible and put it down. Responsible breeders are faced with "culling" in every litter. (whether it be euthanasia, altering, etc.) Thankfully I have not been faced with putting a young pup down, but I have read many discussions from breeders telling the methods that are most commonly used.... putting a pup in the freezer, drowning, shooting, etc. were all mentioned. Again, I have not done any of these methods.. just simply stating what I have read from others... My point is that if a vet cannot be reached, it would be more humane to the pup to put it down immediately rather than let it die a slow, painful death.
This story is very disturbing though. If the child was playing with the pups someone should have been watching and showing the child how to play with them right.I would never let my 2 yr old play with my dogs puppies unsupervised. And whats this about breaking the pups neck.Take it to the vet and if there is no saving it have it put to sleep.Do it humanely not cruely(spelling???).

pope1982, I totally agree with you. I find the kid wanting to break the pup's neck very disturbing and don't find it all a humamne way of destroying the animsl at sll. It's also quite ossible that if the did try to break its nek, and it dind't work, , he would have made it worse and caused even more suffering for the epoor puppy. They obviously have a phone and could have called a vet or an emergency clinic and taken the pup to be euththanized. People have been knwon to live with broken necks, so I imagine a puppy could as well, I think breaking its neck is a bad idea.
Rebel, I'm not sure his cousin should be left alone with himself and the same goes for the other one. Sorry to sound harsh, but anyone who wants to break a puppy's neck needs help. This whole story just outraged me.

greyhounder why would you even consider that an option?Have you ever heard of cruelty to animals.I hope you dont own pets yourself if you belive in breaking puppies necks to kill them.Euthanasia(spelling??)is the best way to go if not by natural causes. Not to be rude but you shouldnt even be allowed to own a dog if you think that cruely.(again sp??)
greyhounder maybe you should take some pointers from your aunt.Who has ever wanted to break a puppies neck.Ur not an animal lover thinking that way.And i dont care how old your cousin is.My 2 year old has never hurt a puppy but i am also responsible enough to watch him when he is with them.Maybe you should learn to be responsible.
dear Bullmom it was an accident as i was a witness there was no vet around as were in the middle of no were on holiday and my cousin was suppervised by 3 adult it jst so happend that one pup was on the foor and my cousin happend to step back a step !
Well said Rebel. I couldn't agree with you more. I don't want to make it seem like I'm picking on someone , but this story was very disturbing and I'm actually worried about greyhounder. It surely wouldn't have done the puppy a favor to break his neck. I saw a show once on Animal Planet once where a dog had its back broken and lived. The poor dog went through agony and major surgery, but will never be "normal.
OK, grethounder said it was a holidy and her were no vets around, but there ARE emergeny clinics for animals.

I wasn't going to keep up with this subject, but now you've gone too far greyhounder.
First of all, how dare you talk about pope being violent when it was you who said you wanted to break the puppy's neck.
Second, you obviously are uneducated because you can't spell worth a darn.
That's it. I'm done this this little troll who probably isn't old enough to use this board. If he was, he would know how to spell simple words like "cousin." . He just wants to rile us all up and I don't have time to play his stupid game.
