It depends on the area you are from, which breeder you choose. Obviously the byb's and mills are cheaper (you get what you pay for). If you intend on finding a reputable breeder, that offers health guarantees, etc, etc. Expect to pay at least $600. That is our pet price and we are the cheapest anywhere around here, including a kennel that does not show and only breeds for hobby, we show and charge less...the other breeders we show with want 1,000-1,200 for a pet.
Akc or any other registration will not guarantee health or quality, make sure whoever you choose, you are thorough in checking out your breeder, ask questions, get to know them , what guarantees they offer, etc. Dont choose according to the cheaper price, there is probably a reason for it.
Of course, there are also breeders who sell them for higher dollar amount and are cluless what they are doing and simply see other ads for more and figure they can get more for them too. You'll just have to do your homework

It really depends, anywhere from $350-$750. Depends on which area you live in and the breeder you choose. You wont find a Pug for less than $350 unless it is from a puppy mill though. I'm looking in my local newspaper and I just spotted an add for Ch. Bloodline Pug Puppies for $750. The cheapest I've ever seen in the newspaper is $350.
