My dog get's a yeast infection in her ear probably a few times a year. Not enough to be chronic, but enough to be an expensive trip to the vet every now and then. It usually happens after she goes swimming if we don't clean her ears well. She's a Golden Retriever. I wanted to try the Monistat treatment the next time before going to the vet. I was wondering what the dosage was. Do you just use the Monistat 7 day cream treatment, and use the same dosage on the infected ear that you would for women's vaginal yeast infection? Thanks
i was told by my vet to clean out the ears using cotton balls with rubbing alcohol on them, and then use clhlorotrimetzole or something like that. it's a creme from the athletes foot section of the drug store/walmart. it works very fast, within 2 days.
I use the foot fungus spray. It works wonderful. I clean the ears out with cotton balls. Not q-tips but cotton balls with a diluted 50/50 of water and peroxide. Then I spray the ears with the spray. My Rotts tend to get yeasty so once every two week I spray their ears and I havent had a problem in a long time. Hope this helps.
