I need some moral support I am tring to be very strong for the family but I need to talk. We took my son to the hospital Saturday with appendicitis. They couldnt opperate because his he was anemic and his electrolytes were way off plus he was 2 units low on blood. By the time he was stable enough it was noon Sunday before they operated. They found it had perferated and his abdomin was full of gangrene. We got him out of ICU last night and he was doing good tonight the Dr said his white blood count is a little high so they think the antibiotics they have him on arent working. I cant even find the time to cry and I have no one to poor my heart out to. So I thought I would try you guys. Sorry to post such a long one.
So sorry to hear that hun. My cousin had appendisitis a couple years ago, and as they did the surgery it burst! He is just FINE now, a happy healthy 11yr old boy. Don't worry. Your son will pull through and be back to normal before you know it!! (((hugs)))
Thanks LOR he's 27 but still my baby. I can only hope that they can get him straightened out We thught he was on the mend this morning he started to want to eat and has had no pain today. His incision is about 9 inches long. the doc said they had to use 2 gal. of fluid to wash out his abdomin. I keep hoping that its somthing stupid that has his blood count off.
Your son will be happy and active again soon! You'll blink and he'll be doing great again. Hang in there! You are being a great mom not to cry in front of your family. You are strong! It's OK to cry though.....remember that :)
His name is Robert. Between my DIL and daughter crying all the time I have started to loose it several times. In all his life he has always been so strong and healthy so I can hope that will work in his favor.
I am so sorry to read this .I am a part time time surgiccal technologist and I have seen cases like this. It is scary, but the treatment your wonderful son is getting is very appropriate. At 27 he is in the prime of his life and I would hopefully expect him to recover. It will be a long fight, but prayers are the first step to miracles....
Sorry to hear about your son, been there done that many times. I have found once they are home it takes me longer to recover than it does them the little darlings....I hope he is doing better and you have found a moment to take care of yourself....remember your no good to anyone unless your good to yourself.
Robert, you and all of your family are in our prayers. He will bounce back soon, and continue to have a wonderful healthy life. Keep the faith, and it is ok to go to the bathroom and ball your eyes out. I know first hand about it. XOXOXO Steph
