I was in wal-mart and this lady was holding a lilltle tiny puppy wrapped in a blankie. Of course I had to go see the little darling. It was a 2 week old shitzu puppy. I asked if she was bottle feeding and she said no. I looked puzzeled and she said her dog had 4 pups and she just wanted to bring this one along with her. I was like ok....cute puppy. I was just a little shocked she would take it from Mom and bring it shopping at 2 weeks. Now I wished I would of asked her why, does she think it benefits the pup, what if it needs to nurse, did it nurse before you brought it shopping. Um ,I just dont think I would have taken it at 2 weeks from its littermates and mother just to go Wal-mart shopping.

I took a 4 day old guinea pig that I had to bottle feed to Lowes Hardware in my purse onetime and a friend of mine took a baby squirrel to church with her but I would never take one of my puppies to a store and let other people handle it that young, Too risky.
If you are bottle feeding a baby animal and it will need to be fed during the time you are away of course you'd bring it with you. It sounds like that woman exposed that pup to all kinds of danger (chills, disease) just because she wanted to be selfish and have it with her or possibly just for showing that she had it. I tend to think it was for show because a pup that tiny could be tucked into a coat pocket or the front of her shirt (warmer and safer) instead of a blanket that anyone could see. I think I would have asked her what on earth she thought she was doing and why and if she didn't have a good reason I'd make sure she thought twice before doing something that stupid again.
she just wanted to bring the pup along with her ? at two weeks old ? good lord ! she didnt have any regard for the health and welfare of that pup. period. if she wanted to take something with her to shop, she should have took a "kick me, i'm stupid" sticker and slapped it on her butt. then you could have obliged her.
