Man, we are getting PLOWED by this storm. I live right in the corner of Kansas. I border Missouri and Oklahoma 10-30 minutes in any 2 different directions. Alittle place called Frontenac, KS. Woke up this morning to over 10 inches, easy. The snow wouldn't be so bad, except for the fact that there's 2 inches of ice on the bottom of that. I'm surprised the power hasn't crapped out, hopefully I don't jinx it with that. The town about 20 minutes of is reporting 17 inches. Biggest storm this area has seen since 1998 they're saying.
Anyone else in the middle of this? I let Duch outside to go potty yesterday, in the middle of it.. the blizzard set in,and it started blowing.. right in her face. Now, she's terrified to go outside. lolol.
Hey Halosfire. We are praying it comes our way in New York! My hubby works at a ski resort and we live for lake effect snow storms! We are supposed to get it tonight, le snow and 50+ mph winds. So hopefully mud season will finally end. We have 7 Dobies and are ready for frozen ground. Send it our way! We love it!
We are in no way in the middle of a blizzard here in Texas, but we are getting an "Arctic Blast". It was 84 degrees here on Wednesday, we had the air conditioner on and yesterday had to release school early because of ice/snow flurries. The high yesterday was 28. BRRRRRR! But by Tuesday the high is expected to be 69. Crazy!
We're getting hammered here in southeastern WI. I attempted to get to school this morning (about 40 miles away) and it took me about 45 mins to get to the interstate in white-out conditions. It normally takes me 10 mins to get to the interstate. I decided to turn around and go home.
There were accidents all over the place, cars in the ditch, etc. I'm glad I didn't attempt to get to school (I only have 1 class on Fridays).
I just took these pics about 20 mins ago (9:00 am CST)... keep in mind at 6:00 am when I got up this morning there was hardly any snow. All this accumilation happened in the last couple of hours.
I live in lower west michigan(maybe 2 hrs from the lake) and i wouldn't say its a blizzard but last i checked some 250 schools were closed today and its been snowing at a constant rate since early this morning. whats worse is it started as freezing rain but is now solid snow.
They say we could get up to 2.5 inches an hour. I'm just glad it wasn't the blizzard they made it out to be on TV, unless that part is still on its way...
I need to move to Texas, i hate winter with every bit of my soul!! I'll get pictures later of the poms in the snow, most of them HATE it as much as i do.
