Sofar she has had 8 sick dogs, I've narrowed down the incubation period to 4 days, because Savanna is just now starting to display symptoms. The odd thing is that dogs that have not been in contact with the sick ones are getting sick too. These dogs don't even come in contact with eachothers excraments, so how is this being passed? Sypmtoms include vomiting yellow flem, diahreaha, and lethargy; it useually lasts about 24-48 hours. They're being treated with antibiodics, and fluids, and like I said they're right back up within a couple days. I'm stumped!!!
Becka, My dogs got this also around a month ago. The next door neighbors dog just got it last week. Very short lived but pretty sick. Diarrhea was just terrible. I was getting up every hour to let them out during the night.
The poor babies I would have taken them to the vet if it was longer but I called the vet and she treated them for coccidia. I really don't think it was that, just a flu.
The diarhea I'm seeing is more of a greenish in color and very watery. Savanna just got a dose of propen G today, and I'll prolly have to give her another tomorrow, also for the diarhea we're giving imodium A-D. Savanna stopped eating this morning, so now I'm having to force fluids down her, with all hope she won't get any worse or I'll need to put her on I.V.'s...which I am proud to say that I have learned to do...not that I want to "practice" though.
