Wow. If I were you, I'd find a new route for your walk.
And if you ever encounter this woman, clearly and firmly tell her that you're a responsible dog owner that cleans up after your pets, and never, under any circumstances, is she to lay another finger on you again or you'll press charges.
Then tell her to have a lovely day and walk the heck away.
Don't walk by her house again, she's clearly too quick to jump to conclusions, irrational, and too stupid to know that it's not very bright to be abusive to dogs or their masters/mistresses.
I would have gone home or pulled out my cell phone and called the police. NO ONE should be touching you! As far as picking up after your dog. Good for you! We have 5 dogs and bring them to a specific area of our property to do their business. It's extremely annoying to find piles from other people's dogs where we dont allow our own to go. Dirtbags, should clean up after their own dog. I DO MINE. Definately if she touches you again call the police. It's NOT okay.
I agree with both of the above. I would alter my walking route if possible just to stay away from her, she sounds like she has a screw loose.
I also agree that it's not ok for her to touch you or bully you or kick at your dogs. If it happens again I would file a report. Now, I doubt anything would come of it at this stage, but she would probably think twice about doing it again. If not, you have a paper trail.
Kudos to you for picking up after your dog. I live across the street from a large neighborhood park. For some reason people think it's ok to let their dogs use the park as a restroom and don't pick up after them. And to think that kids play there, yuck. I also hate it when people are walking their dogs and let them go on everyone's property and forget picking it up. Very few people here do that. It's really sad.
Lol, umm wow.. if that lady grabbed my arm i woulda decked her in her face. Thats absurd. No one had the right to come up to you and just start accusing you of something you didnt do NOR did they see you do. Espesically when you had their poo in the bag. I guess if i were you i would just go a different way even though you shouldnt have to go out of your way b/c someone is being a B***h, but for you dogs sake i would. Hope you find an alternative. Keep us updated
if this happens again, you call the police! no one has the right to put their hands on you. you can still call and file a complaint if you feel scared. you have the right to walk down the street without worrying that you are going to be accosted.
I wouldn't wait. I'd go to the police station now and file a complaint. The police should go out and have a quick chat with her. Make sure you write down the name of the officers you speak to and who go to speak with her. People are not allowed to just grab you and kick at your dog. That could be considered threats, criminal restraint (preventing you from walking by grabbing your arm), assault, and animal abuse. If it happens again and your dog fear-bites her and there is nothing on record to back up your story it would be the death of the dog on your conscience not to mention a black mark on the animal shelter and you as rehabbers in the public eye. Carry a cell phone with you on your walks and if possible have a friend walk with you.
That is crazy i have had that happen to me but no one ever put there hands on me. Take a diffrent route to walk and if she puts her hands on you CALL THE POLICE! And the fact that she kicked your dog makes me soooo made your poor baby. i would call animal care and control and report her. Hope your baby is ok give her hugs from me.
I don't understand why people think that they have the right to grab you and even go as far as to kick at your dog? I would have called the police and filed a complant. wow that just amazes me how rude some people are sometimes.
p.s. I think that it's wonderful what you are trying to do with those dogs it takes a lot of patiants and the will power to help dogs like that!!! I think that the world needs more animal lovers like you in the world.

My degree is in law enforcement and my career, before I had to stop working due to illness, is the legal field. Here's what I would do. I would report the incident to the police. She needs a visit from an officer and you also need record of the incident with the police in case it ever happens again. Write everything down, such as the time, date, exactly what was said and what happened so that you have it all down when you discuss it with an officer. I would NOT deliberately avoid walking past her home unless that's an easy thing for you. You have the right to walk down a public street with your dogs without fear of being assaulted by this crazy witch. Her placing her hands on you and restraining your freedom was a form of assault. Her act of kicking your dog, depending on your local laws there, may very well be worthy of her being fined for animal abuse. Hold your own girl! Just because you are young doesn't mean you have to take that kind of crap. Fight back the right way.
