To Whom it may concern:

Do you ship to APO addresses? I'm in the 1st Cavalry Division stationed in Iraq and we are trying to order some mats but we are looking for who ships to APO first.

Wow! I hope this isn't a real communication. I saw a while back where someone sent something around about Starbucks sending a rude response to the troops and it turned out to be a hoax. If it's real, how dare they treat our young men and women like that who are over there serving our country and dying doing it.

Any company that would phrase any e-mail like that to a member of our armed forces, has to be run by a bunch of..well..if I say that word here, someone would surely cry. You get my point though, right? heh.

As for the business perspective, well...if that company really did do that, then they're pretty much committing business suicide, because regardless of what anyone thinks of the war, I'm pretty sure that most support the troops that are out there.....

Edit...done some digging, most believe it to be an authentic story...

I'm sickened & outraged! Thank you "gunny" for publicizing this email exchange, & thank you, too, Lorrix, for providing those links. I'm delighted to hear that apparently Sgt. Hess is being flooded with emails of support, & I'm tickled silly that apparently "discount-mats" is being flooded with emails too, presumably NOT quite so supportive. Grrrrrrrr...

Went to their site~ seems they are "down due to technical difficulties"...hum

OK.... I don't know if it is because I am young (not real young!).... or because I dont' have any family in the armed forces, but "Big Sand Box"... I have never heard that term.

Is that a term for Iraq or a military term???

sorry!

I do think that email is horrible... but I really have a hard time believe it is real.

gunny's topic, the email was discussed on several talk radio programs out of the Milwaukee, WI market on Friday 1/19/07.

I'm not sure if it is a real email or not, but quite saddening either way.
