So here's the deal - Lila barks when someone is at the door - perfectly acceptable. - she barks when there is someone in our yard - perfectly acceptable - she barks when she has to use the bathroom - perfectly acceptable - Here's what's not acceptable. Say she'll be laying on the sofa (or anywhere) and I go up to her and give her kisses, she'll stand up and wag her tail and give me kisses back and THEN right in my face, like a centimeter from my nose she'll start barking like a mad woman; tail is still shaking and she's not lunging at me at all- she's just there barking at me. WTH!!
How do I curb this behavior? Is there a reason why she is doing this? It doesn't scare me but I sure as heck don't want to take a chance on her accidently biting me.
Is this a time that when she starts doing this I just turn away and ignore her?
Howdy, yep ignore and you may want to reward for silence. When you do that, start with 5 seconds of silence and reward.
I was giggling as I read your post because I have a house that does that... sometimes it's just called "DOG" LOLOLOL
I think if it were 24/7 out of control without a handle on it, that may be an issue. Sounds as if your baby loves you to death and is saying "hi mommy my turn for noise" LOL. Not that it makes it easier, just based on what you are saying sounds as if Lila is wonderful and being somewhat "normal" whatever that is for a dog
