I have a 2 year old golden retriever with a dark red coat. Within the past 6 months he has this very blonde fluffy coat growing in on both sides of this body but not on his back or head. Its a very different color and texture than his dark red coat. Strangers always comment on his strange coloring. I've been told that its just their second coat growing in, but I wanted to make sure he doesn't have a nutrient deficiancy or anything more serious?
I am sure it is nothing to worry about, a dog lacking in something usually had a dull coat, not color changing. You can always check with your vet, it isn't never a bad thing. I would guess it is just the way his coat is growing in. I see it alot.
