We always have a good laugh every Easter as our poodle Appy (passed away 2 yrs ago) would steal Easter eggs from baskets. We found out because one yr during Christmas we were doing a major clean up and found colored shells, dog toys, and toilet paper underneath one of my bros beds (shows how often he cleaned under there lol)...

LOL, I guess you've never heard the expression, "Egg sucking dog." When I was a boy we had an old hound that would sneak into the hen house and steal raw eggs. He was great at protecting the hens from predators, guess he was just collecting his wages.
There is a debate about the bacteria in eggs and its effect on dogs, Raw food enthusiasts claim dogs stomach's have the abilty to destroy bacteria like samonella (sp?) and other's say that isn't so. I don't know who to believe, but I figure I'm guilty of licking cake batter with raw eggs on occasion, a raw egg on occasion can't hurt. My pups enjoy it raw or cooked.
Dogs can eat anything that would give humans salmonella poisoning, or E Coli, and various other nasty things because they have super strong stomach acids, and a very short digestive tract. So yes, you can definitely feed whole raw eggs, shell and all to your dogs, if they'll eat them, some of mine will, some don't like the shell.
Thank you soooo much for the info. My baby has arthritis and I've been throwing away the shells!! AAAGGGHHH!!! No more. I was worried they weren't good for her. Truthfully, money's been tight and I've been giving her eggs because I ran out of wet dog food. (Doll's a little spoiled. I have to mix three different types foods together to get her to eat.)Thanks again!!!!
