I think it is a decent choice. Much better than the highly advertised brands, like Purina, Beneful, Ol Roy, Eukanaba, IAMS, Science Diet and many others are plain awful. Diamond is a better choice than any of them. Ingredients are key when it comes to quality dog foods. Diamond does have first ingredient as meat and that is always good but may have some fillers that are not so good. I personally do not like to see beet pulp in food as it a controversial filler. Also its kind of grain heavy now they are quality grains but IMO dog food should be more based on meat.

I have been feeding Diamond Naturals Small Breed Adult Chicken and Rice for quite a while now and am really pleased with it. I like that it has NO meat by-products, soy, wheat or corn (no gluten products to be concerned about). The only ingredient I'm not completely comfortable with is the beet pulp, but I really don't think it has a lot. My minpins are doing great on it. I was feeding Canidae Chicken and Rice for a while but it was so inconvenient to try to find. I don't notice any difference between the two as far as my dogs coats, etc. are and they seem to like the Diamond just as well. I would stay with the "Naturals" line of their products though.
