Hello Im new here so i'll tell you a little bit about myself. I'm married with 2 adult children, my husband and me have 5 dogs. We had 6 but yesterday I had to put my baby boy to sleep Moose was a Rottie he would of been 10 this year. Can any one tell me how you mend a broken heart?
If you figure out the answer, let me know too. Our family has lost 2 older dogs within 7 months. I have 2 young children and they cry daily. I wish I know how to help you. Just know you gave happiness to your dog and take the peace of mind knowing you gave him 10 years...Best of luck..hang in there. I have come to realize it is just one day at a time...
I would like that anwser also. I lost my oldest baby last April, I have her ashes in a box on my tv. I constantly get depressed, and miss her sooo much. I found that my other girls make wonderful crying pillows when needed. Chin up, everything just takes time
It's very hard to lose one of your best friends, I lost 2 10 year old Rotties within 6 months of each other. All I can say is that it takes time, and you will always miss your dog, but the pain will lessen. That may sound a bit hollow now, but it is true. ((HUGS))
Time. There is no quick way. We also lost an older dog a couple of months ago (cancer). We still have 5 dogs but she is definitely missed. They aren't just a "pack" of dogs where if one is missing you still have plenty left like some people think. Each is an individual with their own personality and habits. Each is special. Time will help dull the edges but you never forget them. I find that it helps to remember something the dog did that was special to that dog and say to a family member, "Remember when he/she.....". It usually brings up all kinds of good memories of that dog and before you know it you are happy/sad which is a lot softer than just sad and helps you get over it a little easier.
Thank you to everyone who replied. It is getting better i'm not crying all day long just part of it. The other dogs are still looking for him, but we try to make their days full and busy. Again Thank you so much
