Can anyone give me a home remedy besides letting Leilah eat grass for her upset gurgling tummy? Both she and rocky, my male boxer, get this discomfort from time to time. HELP. I've tried feeding them rice and putting a little olive oil in their food. but nothing seems to do the trick quickly enough for mommies "discomfort" for her babies.
My boxer and my pit both got upset stomach once because we switched them to food with pretty high protein to try and thicken them up. I just had to switch them back to a regular food. Also my boxer swallowed a corn cob once and I freaked out and gave her peroxide and everything but she didn't throw it up and her stomach was upset so I took her to the vet and they gave me some medicine for colitis which is just upset stomach. Every time they get diarrhea or puke I give them that medicine so you might wanna call your vet and see if they can give you some.
I am sorry your little girls tummy gets so upset. Before my boxer passed in Dec.she also would eat grass. My vet told me that sometimes the grass can upset them even more and to give her nothing but fried hamburger (drain grease)then add cooked rice to it. I gave her this in small amounts several times a day and it worked everytime. Hope this helps your little girl. I am now starting all over with an 8 week old boxer. Can't live without one. Good luck
HI there! I go to a natural dog nutritionist called Giulio Ferrari, he works at the Paw Depot, and he recommended Fruitables for my girl (4 y/o female boxer). From what I can tell, Fruitables is a pumpkin mix, so I would think if you give them some pumpkin they will be ok!
I usually treat that with a pumpkin prebiotic called Fruitables. If you don't have access to that, you can use canned pumpkin (though it;s not as effective) and use beet pulp. Feel free to ask any questions!
