this is a Venetian Masquerade Carnival mask from Venice Italy. OK I need an adhesive that will hold onto paper mache I've tried crazy glue , gorrilla glue, liquid nail, glue gun, and nothing is staying stuck , the Item I am working with was bought in a store so it is not wet ,I'm trying to hold a ribbon on each side of the paper mache mask I really do not want to put any holes in it but if that is my last resort I guess I will. and how would I do that without damaging the mask.help please I need advice from a handy person, help please thank you

You could try a couple of paper clips if the ribbons will be near the edges of the mask. Just paint the clips to match the mask and ribbons so they aren't easily seen. If not near the edges you could try using straight pins (small ones used for sewing projects). The holes would be tiny and if you want to keep the ribbons on the mask just glue the pins before pushing them through the mask with a tacky kind of glue so they don't slip. If you use pins make sure the points are away from your eyes.
If super glue won't do the trick, try model train sceanery adhesive. I have just about used it on everything I can find. I used to make alot of stuff for model horses, and most glues would not hold the sceanery(i.e. trees and footing). I got some glue from a model train store, and it worked great. sometimes you have to wait a minute or 2 until it is somewhat dry and a little tacky, but works great.
