Wow! I cant believe how many people are against The Dog Whisperer. Have any of you oppossed to his methods worked, owned or fostered a dog aggressive Pit Bull or any other bully breed for that matter? Dangling a treat in front of his face and telling him 'no' isnt going to do the trick to stop the behavior, even if it is repetitively taught. I guess everyone has their own way of doing things, but some cant deny the aura he puts out even when he walks into a room with a dog...
Hi I am new here but had to add my two cents to this thread.
I can't believe what I am reading. I love Cesar and he is not inhumane or irresponsible and his methods DO work. I have two loving and friendly pits but when I would take them walking they would drag me down the road. I would have to walk them one at a time. I put Cesar's method to the test and now they not only walk beside me I can hold both leashes in one hand so they can walk beside each other. If he was a fake and everything else some of you haters have posted I doubt he would still be in business because surely someone would have turned him in as an abuser. Nor, would all the stars, such as Will and Jada Pinkett Smith, use him to train their dogs. If you only watch part of one show how can you say he is a fake and you know better than he does? Isn't that like watching a surgery then saying you could have done a better job than the surgeon?
Milan is abusive. In one of his shows he actually choked a dog to unconsiousness. He's not a good trainer, his methods are terrible. I bought his book and video from our local store to keep someone else from being subjected to his poor methods.
And I DO know better than him. I am a dog trainer. Soon to be certified.
I just want to say that everyone is entitled to their own opinions. I didn't think that Milan advertises himself as a dog trainer but as a dog psychologist. Would we all agree that there is a difference??
LOL, NoDogYet! At least that move put a few more cents in Cesar Milan's pocket. Nothing like a little reverse psychology..."I don't like you so I'm going to buy every one of your books so that no one else can read them"!!!
Ha Ha. That's funny. I only did it because they said they're not getting any more copies-they've been getting too many complaints because they even sold them this one time. And taking one copy off the shelves prevents at least one copy from getting into someone else's hands. especially if its the last copy.
And there's no way he's a dog psycologist. A dog trainer has almost exclusive rights to claim that title as well. The dog trainer must know how the dog's mind works, and what motivates it to do things. What you call dog psychology the trainer must always keep in mind. Did you know dogs don't see the same way people do?? Do you know what dog sense is more effective for the trainer to use when training? meaning what sense is strongest in training?
