Our 1 year old female Chi snares at us when we dress her in a sweater sometimes and/or take it off. She shows her teeth and sometimes looks like she's ready to bite. Don't understand it since it's not all the time. What's going on? We're not hurting her, actually, we're very gentle with her.
I agree, my poodle has a nice pink jacket, and my lab/shar pei does also. My poodle will jump on the couch so you can put her jacket on before going outside. They shouldn't have to freeze.
I think she is probably telling you something else. It could be the sweater pulls the hair when it is removed. Try a different kind, maybe something more like a jacket. She could be sore from somthing. Talk to your vet, she what their opinion is.
Thanks for the comments - but since I wrote the inquiry - she's gotten much better. I just don't think anyone has ever fussed over her before (since she is a rescue). She loves taking walks and doesn't mind the sweaters and jackets. She get's cold, so she needs to have something on when going in 20/30 degree weather.
New issue - I can't get to clip her nails. We purchased the best clippers and the filer - but she won't hold still and yipes when you try.
