I bought vaccines for my pup and Im not sure how to do this. Im thinking i should give them to her cold since they have to be refrigerated and just pull the skin up on the back of her neck to inject it but how far does the needle need to go to be effective? Whats too far? Im comfortable doin this I just want to do it right.
The fact that you need to ask these questions says to me that you are NOT ready to give your own vaccinations. I would suggest having your vet give the shots while you are in the exam room with him/her. You can ask questions and observe first hand, so that you are prepared to do this yourself the next time.
Hi! Do you know someone that has given puppies shots before? If so I would ask that person to come over and instruct and supervise the shot you give your puppy. It is simple to do, but you need someone there to oversee the shot giving till you are confident that you are doing it properly. As the other person said talking to your vet and seeing if he will show you how to give the shot is a good option too. Good luck.
