I have a general question as I am new to this. I have a male dog. The breeder thinks he is a fine specimen and wants to breed him with one of her female dogs. What can I expect to receive from this if I breed my dog?
Talk to the breeder about it. She might just be tring to get a free breeding from, and once you bring in up that is the end of it. Who is paying for the healt testing? Did you purchase the dog with idea she was going to use it for breeding? Sometimes a males personality can change after breeding. Alot just depends on the breed of dog. Personally I wouldn't do it for nothing, nor would I breed a dog that has not had the proper health testing done.
Whether you get a fee or not will depend on what the terms of the sale were. Surely if he was sold on full registration and no neuter agreement a contract of some sort was in place. You will likely be responsible for the health testing (genetic testing)
Depends on what the terms of the sale were... On most of my boys they were purchased with the agreement that the breeder maintains stud rights - so they can use them at any point without paying a stud fee.
And I would assume you're responsible for testing... that's usually how it works...
