Hi my 11 month old weimaraner has started to develop black spots on his coat. They look like spots of oil and he appears to be getting more daily. He is also moulting at the moment. Does anyone know what this is or what causes it.
I used to raise Weimaraners before my Corgis but those spots are very normal for a dog of this age. They go through a puberty induced coat change. He will probably get more and almost look speckled with light and dark patches. It can take a few months for it to completely pass but it will eventually even out and look normal again.
I have an 8month old Weimeraner and he is silver, but when he was a little puppy I noticed blue spots around his ear...well now he has them everywhere, I thought it was oil too and I kept giving him baths but they never went away in fact there's more and more everyday he actually looks really cute!
I have a 3 year old Weimaraner and she has had spots since the day I got here at 1 year old. They seem to get worse around this time of year and late Fall. It seems as though she's shedding a new coat all the time as the spots never go away. I always get asked if she's mixed with something else but she is AKC registered as a full blood Weimaraner!
Has anyone had an issue with the spots never going away?
Jessie is AKA and CKC silver weim and has the same spots. They look like oil drops on her coat. She then gets a dark line between her shoulder blades down her back, and sheds the lighter fur. Her coat does the same in the fall.
