People like you are what's wrong with the Rottweiler breed and purebred dogs in general!
There is no such thing as a MiniRottweiler! (I had a terrible time just typing that!) I can't wait til the mods delete you post! I can't imagine anyone would pay for one of those hideous pug mixes anyway.
I popped on last night really quick and managed to make it to the site. Did anyone else? OMG. Especially in conjunction with the other post I found elsewhere by this person. I really can't post yet, lol, but I do hope they come back and are willing to discuss this whole thing........
Yep, I went to the site long enought to see a couple of pics of the parents. They were ugly black and tan pug mixes (have no idea w/ what) that had poorly docked tails. The weren't properly marked either, they seemed to fade like a Yorkie or German Shepherd. I doubt there was a bit of Rottweiler blood in them, but the pre edited post said they had full Rottweilers too. It's sad when any breed is meddled with this way, but Rottweilers have too many problems already, with irresponsible owners, BYBs and breed prejudice.
So I must hijack the thread here and say this is almost as bad as the lady who just called me earlier this afternoon. She wanted to know if I bred and sold any of the "new" TEACUP BOSTONS!!!???!!! HUH!?!
Apparently, there is a lady about 6 hours from me over in Mississippi, who is breeding these babies so small, they only weigh 4-6 pounds when fully grown! I spoke to the caller at length and eventually I got the number for the kennel. I called the owner and oh my gosh! I was mortified at her ignorance. These dogs are so not meant to be this small.
Anyway, enough of my rant. The "breeder" charges $2-3k for these puppies and no health guarantee or warranty of any kind. She said at this time she also has an albino and those are $4k! I will be calling my good friends at animal control on Tuesday and let them take a peek at the conditions. Her big "selling point" is they're teacup size, unique markings and albino and big deal...she's ACA registered!
Will wonders ever cease?
Friends will step in when the rest of the world steps out.
These are reasons why I really believe that people breeding dogs should have a license to do so. This really makes it hard for a good breeder to be reputable. It just makes me sick to see "people" do things like this just for $$$, and call themselves sincere and honest. But, unfortunately there is no law for this.
Animals, what animals? My children just have alot of hair!
I have mini aussies, and alot of people think they are just as bad. I don't agree with teacup anything. I don't think people realize how hard it is to take care of a dog that is only 3lbs. Not to mention making sure they eat as a pup or they die.
As far as making breeds smaller, i don't have much to say. I wish I could have seen her site, and made a decision from that. It sounds pretty pitiful. I could not imagine mini rotties, how can they pull carts that way lol
My boss and i keep joking that some of our blk tri aussies look like berners. We should call them mini berners lol.
Did you happen to read the sort of mission statement thing? No mention of contract or anything. I bookmarked it. On one of the pics it thanks someone, I checked them out, it's a miniature pinscher breeder. On the other post I found elswhere (also bookmarked)from about a year ago it mentions how there's no Rottweiler blood at this time (but now something about half 'Mini rott' and half Rott). WHY call them mini rott's then unless it's simply a sales thing (nor is it honest to represent them like that at this point)? References Doberman's and Miniature Pinscher's and how they look alike but aren't related. Okay. But one wasn't made to look like the other or to mislead people it was a miniature or a 'breed' until it WAS (and weren't min-pin's around like a hundred years BEFORE the doberman, I could be off on that, so no comparison) which is how it feels to me and I am still not ready to post I think, lol.
I did some research on the Rottie forum and apparently "MiniRotts", "muggins" and "Carlin Pinschers" are just crosses between pugs and Min Pins. I really am beginning to worry about the people who buy these mix breeds.
These dogs pictured on the website are ugly, who wouldn't rather have a Min Pin, if they like the black and tan in small package? Not to mention the dozen other small breeds that can come in that pattern.
