Has your vet done any tests to see what may be causing the diarrhea? Has your vet checked a stool sample? If the answer to these questions are no, then you need to seek another vet's opinion ASAP. There are many things that can cause diarrhea in a puppy, a few examples are: Parvo, coccidia, worms, food intolerance and stress, there are other possiblities as well. If I were you, I'd leave her on whatever food she is currently eating and stop all dietary changes until a vet gives you a diagnosis. You really need a vet to evaluate your puppy and figure out & treat what's causing the problem. Do not hesitate to see another vet if you aren't getting good answers from the one you are currently seeing.
Yes we have had her to the vet many times...she was treated for cocidea, gardia, whip work and she still has the poops...we had her on metrninazole....she had 3 fecals done...The vet now thinks it was to many food changes....her food was changed 4 times in 5 weeks....we now have her on medi cal hypoallergic...giving her pepto 2 times a day and also sprinkling her food with forti flora, good bacteria...all this from the vet...and her poop is still runny...not watery like it was but runny and sometimes it is thicker than a cow patty.... I am not changing her food...the vet told me it can take up to 6 weeks of keeping her on the same food til her poop is firm...just heard someone talking about punpkin and thought maybe that would work....thanks
My puppy was suffering from the same thing. The Vet recommended rice and boiled chicken breast for two days. I feed her twice a day 2 cups of rice and a 1/4 cup of chicken. Her stool has gotten alot better.
