Hello to all of you and I hope you are all feeling creative! I just purchased my first registered Doberman Pinscher. He is 7 weeks old and full of mischief! We are having the worst time deciding on a name for him. I was really interested in Greek God names, but feel that it might be too cliche. Some of the names we liked were Xarius, Achilles, Ares and Beau (since we already have a female he will be her betrothed). No kennel name needs to be included. His personality so far: no fear, trouble maker, likes to nip and play tug-of-war and has a huge appetite. Typical Doberman puppy . I hope that you all can help. I hope I have given enough information to go off of. Thanks for your help!
I thought this would be a friendly place to ask questions, share stories and advice. I very much enjoy the Doberman breed. Our female is so caring and loving, has a great temperament. I thought people would be less naive.
also, Ruffian, his mother died at child birth, I would have much rather him be nursed to better health until at least 8 weeks old, however, this guy who was taking care of him was feeding him puppy chow and cat food. I think he is much better away from there. I don't know what you mean by BYB. Just becuase he will be a mate for our female doesn't mean we will breed them.
I was going to suggest Dionysus also !! A very strong sounding Greek God's name. I just finished reading about all the Greek Gods in a book series titled Percy Jackson and the Olympians. Another name suggestion is Chronos, but he was evil lol, Poseidon is a good one too.
Could someone please tell me what "BYB" means? Does anyone have any ideas on how to work some of those names into an AKC registered name? I do like Dionysus, after all he was the god of celebration. I guess the Romans called him Bacchus (bak-uhs). The latter is a lot easier to spell, lol. AHHH! this is more difficult than it needs to be!
I don't know if I'm to late for suggestions, but...When I was thinking up names for my Dobe (sex undecieded) Optimus and Apollo were top for me. Now we have a beautiful 6 month old red female - Ripley. Domino if she was black. We thought thru a lot of movies for a strong name. Good luck!
You're right, luvinlife....this should be a friendly place to post questions/ answers. Maybe "ruffian" is disagreeable because his eyes hurt from posting 2772 times, needs to get out more and interact with people to build his social skills. Anyway, you've probably named your new pup by now and I'm sure it's a good one. Good luck with your new addition!
