hello everyone, hoping i could get some input...my 9month old min pin is in ALOT of trouble ! just the past month or so he started showing back leg issues.. such as stiffness limping on both legs, it looks like hes walking on stilts. So i thought maybe he got hurt so i watched him very closely for the last week i figure lets go to the vet... first vet said xrays- so we got xrays, they reviled that my 9 MONTH OLD "PURE BRED" has "LPD"( Legg-perthes-disease) in his Left hip joint and Beginning signs of hip dysplasia in his Right hip joint. and because of all this to add to the list hes got arthritis in both knees, and is to the point of barely bending them, I went to another vet with the xrays to get a second opinion, that vet agrees with the first, they both prescribed him Rimadyl25mg 1/2 2xdaily.. i know i shouldnt have however this puppy was a graduation gift for me and a 21nd birthday gift, we got him at the Willow brook mall in nj. So not knowing what to do i went WITH rocky and showed him to them, they said they will try to do the best they can, even had their vet look at him and he said the same as the others, he will need a double hip surgery =[ being 9months old i feel SO bad and that this is SO unfair to him to have to go through..he is my little boy and i love him so much, the surgery is almost 6000$ they are telling me and he is covered by INS- & if i dont do this surgery he will loose use of both back legs within a matter of years because of how fast its progressing... any input ANYONE would be so greatly appriciated!
ALSO- i am trying to research the breeder because i have a few words for her! however i cannot track her down- her name is***** out of KS .. i cant find anything on her, which leads me to think hes from a puppy mill...

oh thank you so much that would be great- my vets refurd me to Dr. HUNT ? said hes very good. but i would love to look into who you suggest, any help is alot for us.dr hunt is very pricey - but i plan on taking them to court if they refuse to pay for it( their warrenty is refund of the dog and 2x the price but that wont cover what he needs, but at this point they seem to be trying their best ( they are a completely new team all the others were fired for selling the puppies and pocketing the money.. sad so this new team is HOPEFULLY doing their best for my little guy
Dr. Hunt would be my 1st recommendation. He is fantastic. A friend of mine worked for him years ago when he was a traveling surgeon so I can say w/o a doubt Rocky would get top notch care in his hands.
Another group I am familiar with is a traveling orthopedic group who also now has a brick and mortar facility. The name of that group is Crown Veterinary Specialists. They can either come to your regular vet's office or you can go to them. We usually have them come to our clinic. It might be a little less expensive that way however the prices for orthopedic surgeries don't usually differ that much. Dr. Ross and Dr. Cooley are both very good so it wouldn't matter which one did Rocky's surgery.
You can go to petshoppuppies.org and fill out their form with the breeders information and the pet shop you bought him from. They will research the breeder and you can get the information you are looking for about the breeder. It's free and I think they usually give you the results in 24 hours.
if anyone wants to help out Rocky, here is the link![/u]
THANKYOU EVERYONE !!
