Well, after I got Duncan I just couldn't help but want to take so many pictures of him, and send them to my family in Pennsylvania, so I went and bought a digital camera ($250). I wouldn't admit to any other people that the only reason I bought the camera is because of the dog. Now you all know my little secret. Has anyone else bought something crazy because of their dog?
We bought a $200 kennel and $150 dog house (which he promptly ate) so now we are building him another dog house. (lol, it is heated, has ac and is insulated) We found out that he has a problem with his lungs which makes him overheat in the house so he has to stay outside, also, with certain foods, he will throw it back up. So we found a holstic all natural dog food from royal canin that he loves, only thing is it is $40 per bag! (Spoiled dog, lol)
I don't think I have bought any one item that is all that extravagant (sp) but what I do it buy tons of little things that add up to too much! You know, toys, treats, oh I like that leash/collar (even when they don't need one) you name it. I did buy a t shirt for Bailey that said the 12 dogs of Christmas and had a little poem. It's not that it was expensive, but I live in South Texas, I think she wore it once. It doesn't exactly get cold her, and she's inside anyway!
Well everytime I go to the grocery store or wal-mart I stop in the pet section and get her a new toy or a treat (usually both) If my husband is home I hide the bag because this dog has 3 toy baskets already and growing.
I can't even count any more how much i spend, jackets, boots, lead and collar to match, beds, blackets, its never ending, but i have so much fun. course, my daughter is getting ready to have the first grandchild, so i will have to spend a bit on him (haha)
Well, I just got back from Petsmart getting stuff for Lady's arrival. Of course I had to buy everybody else stuff too, and this is not counting what they are providing and what I've already bought and I still spent 160.00. Oh well. It's worth it. Also while I was there they had a group that adopts out retired greyhound racers, of course I had a ton of questions and I am so excited. I don't know how I'll make it until Friday! Have a good day! i don't think i have ever bought anything that was necessarily extravagant. i buy them all the stuff they need. but i did buy a little bag with a mesh side and shoulder straps on it so i could take my guinea pig on walks with me and the dogs. it is actually made for small animals. i don't know if that is considered extravagant or just plain nuts. :)
yeah i know. i get weird looks from people when they have figured out what it is. but it is a very comfy little bag. it has black plushy material inside of it. and he doesn't seem to mind being in it though sometimes i feel bad he gets jostled around a little while we walk. i know.........i need to go see lalayla :)
In just a little over a years time I have bought 10 BIG dog pillow beds for my 2 dogs. I know the outer part is washable, but I always want the dogs to have fresh and fluffy beds that smell like cedar. So that makes it about $350 in just beds. My Husband thinks I'm a bit coo coo. Good thing he's a good sport about it.
