Wow, thanks for the kind words... I was kind of hoping at least some of you would "get it" with the snakes. It's great being able to share these guys in such a good way and introduce them to others that have serious reservations. I agree about the live meals. All of my snakes were raised on frozen thawed mice. Too risky to feed live when it's not necessary. Most of the responsible herp keepers do feed frozen thawed nowadays..... a nice advance in the pet industry! It's so awesome watching kids get excited by snakes and lizards too. To be truthful, girls seem to be more easily swayed to the "cool" side of snakes than some boys. They seem to get the "hero" role and want to remove the threat of snakes.... society, one kid at a time, I'm still working on them!!! I love the awe and wonder in childrens faces when interacting with them and ANY animal that happens to be "of the moment".
Wench: If I was not before a snake priestess, I am in this life. The photos you made are the most beautiful thing I have seen in so long. Thank-you. I made a post regarding my love for snake. I have always loved Boas. I had a rare illegal boa given to me and promptly stolen from me, 25 years ago...incredible animal. I live in CA. It was so small and yet vital...not large because it's enviornment won't support much. It was of a size that people would find not threatening. I have had several redtailed boas... What is a sure cure for the snakemites?
cricketmom = i see alot of that stuff on the discovery channel. i love their shark week the best. my son loves their dinosaur specials. i really don't watch animal planet all that much. just their breed all about it shows and some of their training shows.
