I have been having a very hard time with my senior dog on getting her to eat her kibble. I haven't noticed any problem with her teeth. She can still chew the heck out of her beef knuckle bones. I was feeding her the natural dog food rolls with the dry, but now she just picks out the rolls and leaves all the dry food in her bowl. So, I just decided to give her the dry and she will not eat. Any ideas for Getting her to eat the dry kibble? Or, can it be that she can not taste the food like she did as a younger dog and maybe I should just feed the rolls, which can be expensive for a full feed to a 70lb dog. I really do not know what to do hmmm... maybe she is getting pickier as she ages.
sounds like a picky eater to me. If the pup is picking out their food, then they know what they like to eat. So I don't think it's the taste buds. I would just give him the kibble and eventually he will eat it. Dogs won't starve themselves.
Yep i bet she likes the food rolls so much she's passing over the dry in hopes that you give it to her. If she's not having teeth or gum problems, sounds like she's trying to train you. After all, if she was loosing her sense of taste, she wouldnt prefer the food rolls over the kibble.
