I got three dogs. They are all pretty young, winnie being the oldest at 2 years old. Both Lana and Sydney are 1. If they are not sleeping they are all constantly playing with eachother and most of the time it gets pretty loud. I find myself watching tv with the volume pretty loud so i can hear over the noise.
Do they ever calm down? I cant wait for the day i can walk around the house without dogs running around playing under my feet or on top of me. Don't get me wrong I dont mind them playing but since they all have so much energy it just gets crazy most of the time, especially when friends come over.
For those of you with 3 or more dogs that live inside, how do they interact with eachother and people that come over for visits, how old r they?
I am quitting my job, so next Monday is my last day, which means i can start taking them all to the dog park agian. I'm so glad i can get most of their energy out at the park. I dont know what i would do if there were no dog parks.
Anyways I was just curious how other peoples dogs interact with eachother on a daily basis.thanks.
i have three dogs also. scout loves to play with everyone and would probably play all day long if the other two would play with her. thunder does not like to play so when scout tries to get him to play there is alot of noise because thunder is always growling and barking at her to stop. then he runs away from her and she chases him and its pretty chaotic. our thrid dog, salty, is a foster dog we just got 2 weeks ago. scout tried playing with her the first few days and that wound up with salty attacking her. scout still tries but it doesnt work out very well either. salty is very playful with us, she loves to chase after toys, just not play with the other dogs. scout really needs a playmate :(
so for right now, they all just lay around and mind their own business for the most part.
6 at the moment....that can change depending on a stray that happens by or whatever. They are all rescues and have learned that when someone new comes to live here we do the "sniff test" outside on neutral territory. I use the phrase" that's a baby", if I see any fuss starting. I do the same with all the neighborhood kids that want to play with them. 5 of them are large dogs so they had to learn to behave. We have an acre fenced yard right now( used to have 6 acres) and they run around and chase the birds etc. I try to let them outside for as long as possible everyday so that they will be tired when it's time to be in.

I have a 4 yr old female pug/chihuahua mix, a 2 yr old male rat terrier, and a 7 yr old male doberman pinscher. They all interact very well with each other and with other people that come in the house. Chopper and Molllie (the youngest ones) are always playing with each other and Eli is always sleeping and playing with his toys by himself. They all sleep together on the couch a lot of the time. It's pretty darn cute. The only times I have to tell them to calm down is when Chopper and Mollie get out of hand with their playing. They're usually tugging on a sock or rope or chewing on each other. Eli sometimes barks at them and whines because he wants to play but really doesn't know how.
To many... They do calm down yes, but some of that is breed related as well. My rescue rottie is almost three and she will start roaring and playing at every oppertunity. Even my year old afghan has calmed down and lays around, but the rottie gets everyone going and it can be 3am.
I have watched my dogs "play" for over 10 hours without stop until I had enough of my "test" to see if they would calm down eventually. They where so exhausted at the end they where crawling around on the floor together but still determened to have at it.
But they normally calm as they age. I enforce them stopping the constant play to teach them calm behavior. Otherwsie they just think play is how it goes and play onstantly without ever taking a moment to relax.
I also enforce calm down before, during, and after eatting as well.
i have 3- 5 years, 3 years, and almost 2 years. so they are a little older. i'm sure yours will calm down. but they are probably in great shape and strong from all that playing. they play some in the house but not nearly as much as before. if i'm watching a favorite tv show i have them calm down so i can hear it. they get along really well, except the border collie has some personal space issues at times. but she just gives a growl for the others to leave her alone. the pug is just a lover and spends most of his time in my lap if i'm sitting down, or on the back of the couch. when people come over the 2 big ones have to be outside or in the kitchen. all 3 want to jump all over people.
We have 3 dogs now. Ziggy my boston terrier puppy. And the 2 rescues i am working with. Its alot of work to have 3 dogs. Gotta spread the love abit more. Pluse we have 3 cats and 5 children. Very busy!
Four! HTe corgi, dobi, husky, and beagle mix. We have a pattern that works. The husky and corgi can't be alone together and they pretty much ignore eachother anyway. The dobi will run around and get everyone else doing it to but hes cute so its ok. If it wasn't for him they would all just sit around.
I've got two dogs right now with me at school, Ace is almost 10 months (chihuahua) and Summer is almost 9 months (pug/beagle mix). When I go home in May (after I graduate yay!!) to my parents', there will be three dogs because Abby is there, too, and she is a 1 year old german shepherd.
Abby & Summer love to play together. They get so excited to see each other. If Summer even hears me say "Abby" she gets really excited and runs around & licks my face, kind of like when I dog hears the word "outside". They are *very* loud together, when they go upstairs you can hear them running up & down the hallway.
Ace stays away from them, they're too rough and he's way to small. Whenever Abby is around he's always wanting me to hold him.
I have 2 maltese 1yr old and 2 yr old, and a westie 3 yr old. They chase each other thru the house and play all day with occasional breaks for a nap in the sun. I love to watch them because they have so much fun.
I have 3 toy poodles(Tita, Baby and Troy) and one maltese(Daisy).
Every morning I go to their room and let them out to the rest of the house. they immediately start the jumping around and the chasing around. They look so cute!
I then let them out to the yard and they start running around in the grass.
Once I'm ready to go to work, I bring them inside the house and barricade their room from the rest of the house otherwise I would probably find a chaos upon my return from work.
When I come back from work they then get accest the rest of the house and the chasing and running starts again. When I get on my treadmill, my poodle girls love to joing me! This is our weekly routine until Spring gets here, then we start our outside walks.
