I have a 6mn english bulldog. At his 6mn. Vet. checkup I was told that he has Cryptorchidism and must be casterated. I paid a great deal of money for my dog. I would like to make arrangements with the breeder for reinbrusment. I do not know what a fair price would be. My family has grown very attached to the dog and would like to keep him. Could anyone give me information on how find out the value of my dog?
do you have a contract with the breeder that says what the arrangements are, if any, for this? if so, that will dictate it. if not, i suppose you would need to find out the prices on bulldogs from other breeders in your area or region and go from there. if there isn't any contract, i don't think there may be much you can do if the breeder doesn't want to reimburse any.
Pearl is right, if you don't have a contract or health guarantee with the breeder regarding this dog, there's pretty much no guarantee you will get any money back at all, regardless of what you spent for your dog. And there's no legal recourse you can take against the breeder either, without a contract. Which is why contracts are so important.
did you buy the bulldog as a show/breeding prospect? some breeders who sell their dogs as show/breeding dogs will refund you the difference in their pet pup prices and their show pup prices if the show pup came down with some problem that doesn't allow for the pup to be shown or bred. but that is hwere the contract and health guarantee come in. without that it would be a tough fight
