Nessie, I have a puggle and he is also stubborn, I think it is a Pug thing. Have had beagles and they are not normally that stubborn. He is love, but he can be obstinate! Put a picture of your dog up if you can. I had never heard of that breed before, but then I never heard of a Puggle till we got this one its a rescue. Cecille your dog is gorgeous!! I love his coloring is it called brindle? Anyhow Nessie my dog chews sticks no matter how many times I say no distract him, etc, he goes right back to it. I am to the point where I am "picking my battles" Good luck with your dog. If he is as cute as the one Cecille shows your very lucky =)
I've got 2 puggat boys..."Angus", a one year old from a litter we had last year, and "Murphy", a 10 week old baby from this year's litter. They are both amazing! How do I post a picture on this site? You've got to see them! Murphy came out with the greatest coloring! Apricot and white with green eyes! They're really smart little guys...stubborn? Yes, but lots of fun! :)
I have one and he is the best dog i've ever had !! he loves to dig, he's a rescuer, if you hid under a blanket he will go nuts trying to dig you out...not to mention his escape attempts under the fence they sure can dig! and jump like a clown he jumps so much its too funny mine is 1 year old and about 28lbs solid however he has wrinkles on his head and neck still, best temperment, loyal, protector and great with kids, mine housetriained himself too and knows about 15 tricks and tonnes of commands...the secret...is... food. they will do anything to please you and try even harder when there is food as a reward, i wouldn't trade my mini boxer in for anything in the world he is sooo cute and snuggly even now no problems other than him chewing my manolo heal... yeah, chewing anything wood or leather, and he likes to destroy stuffed animals he even sings with me the cutest thing ever is that he has a blankie, that he brings everywhere it's a furry blanket that hes claimed for himself he sleeps with it drags it up and down stairs i would recommend this cross breed to anyone they are way better and cuter then puggles and jugs, and he is such a clown so entertaining... again i love him best dog ever!!! the only thing hes had was a cold which was horrible, like a kid he'd sneeze and boogers fly and crust on his nose, gave him some children's cold medicine and it went away
im ranting i know but i just love him so much custes dog in the world mine is a mix between a king pug and a mexican rat terrier
I am glad you love your baby. However someone saw you coming and felt you would be gullible to fall into their trap of lies....may have worked. Your pug/rat terrier mix is adorable though. Mini boxer it is not.
We have a puggat. My little girl, 6, was given the joy of naming him. His name is Pug. It seems to fit him. He is very smart but extremely energetic. The kids love it but the cats hate it. The only problems we have seemed to have are his jumping up on people and play biting. We have been trying to work on these two for some time now. Also he pulls like crazy when we walk him. If you have any suggestions on these items please let me know.
It is funny because the pet store told us he would get between 10-15 lbs. He is almost 10 mths old and he weighs about 18. I don't think they know what they are talking about.
Thats what happens when you buy from a pet store. The store knows nothing about the parents of the dogs for sale. They get them from puppy mills and thru brokers who care nothing about the dogs only about the dollars they make. They tell customers what ever they want to hear to make the sale. for future reference never buy from a pet store. They sold you a mutt and probably charged an extremly high price. Good luck in the future of your dog because who knows what kind of health problems you may incure. Your puppy probably came from the worst conditions imaginable, and yes you helped fund that operation that will continue because people are not aware of these things.
cateyes....I read your message last night and ya it did sound alittle like advertising, but I truly love the name 'chinese rats'. I have all AKC registered dogs, but my sister breeds pugs and rat terriers and she loves the name too. We think its really cute and not the 'cute' that pinlover sarcastically puts it. Good luck with the three pups and if your responsible enough to cross breed dogs than your responsible enough to name it whatever the HECK you won't
I also have one of these puppies, but i was told that she was a rugrat. she is the cutest puppy i have ever seen and she is very lucky that she is cute because she is just as naughty as she is cute. she gets into everything and she was housebroken for the first two months after i got her but now she goes right outside of the bedroom door. It is almost like she is doing it on purpose, but there is no apparent reason. It is very hard to keep up with her and I don't even know what to do. She is only six months old and I know that she is just a puppy still, but it's almost like she is getting worse not better. I have had other dogs in the past and I don't remember having nearly as much trouble with them. She is just like a child though she runs in circles all day and then sleeps hard. when she sleeps she loves to cuddle and be right next to me so it is hard to hold a grudge.
Why worry about what the person you got her from (I refuse to refer to them as a breeder out of respect for the responsible breeders who are active on this forum) called her. I'm sure she is an adorable mixed breed puppy, a pug X rat terrier cross. Love her for what she is, and please, if people ask what "breed" of dog she is, tell them she is a mix or a cross, whatever, but DON'T call her a rugrat or pugrat, or God forbid, a Chinese rat. I honestly believe that if these "designer dogs" were called what they are (a mixed breed or cross) and not the cutsie names people come up with for them, the craze wouldn't be nearly so severe!
