OMG... I can't wait to post pictures of her. She is MOST DEFINATLEY CROSS EYED!!!
She's got a motor on her that you wouldn't believe!!!
She's got SOOO many new toys, a new bed, a black rhine stone tag with her name already ingraved. She's more interested in the plants right now, than anything. I forgot my camera... UGGG!
My friend RAN out into the driveway when we pulled up, she was sooooooo excited, I could tell that too by all the toys we had to pick the prices of off, my fingertips are still a little sticky.
Magoo didn't foil anything... the shelter was a couple towns away. I never mentioned that for a reason.
One very lucky kitty gonna be showered with all sorts of love!! We are going to take her to the vet within the hour... some of the cats she was caged with looked very sick... eyes glued shut and lots and lots of scratching. There wasn't a single toy in their cage to be played with. Made me sad.
Wow! What a day. Lazy Daisy went to the vet and as we suspected, she had worms and lots & lots of fleas. I believe the vet said she most likely got the worms from ingesting some fleas. Other than that, she was pretty good.
When the vet 1st set eyes on her he laughed at those cross eyes of hers and she rubbed and purred up against him.
Ok... favorite toys... dog food crunchies, she batted them around the house all day today. She loves feathers on the string and those little foil balls. Paper bags... SHE LOVES THEM and the pepsi 12 pack boxes are good for hide and seek. When you walk by she would poke her little arm out and try to snag you up... TO CUTE!
I can't believe that when she napped, she did it in her new bed!!! I've never had good luck with buying my cats beds and them actually sleeping in them!
Today was awesome & thanks for all your support TP'ers!
Awww, she sure is a lucky kitty and your friends is also a lucky person to have a friend like you.
I just can't imagine how happy she she is. It infuriates me that the poor littl thing had worms though. Don't they check these poor animals? It doesn't say much for the Shlter where she was living, but she's lucky she's now in a good and loving home She could dhave died there from the fleas and worms. I think somone else would have preferred to see that happen, but I won't mention any names, Poor baby. Well, that won't happen now. I'm sure she's one hapy kitten I don't remeber if you mentioned how old she was.
In any caase case, I'm glad for this beautiful and happy ending.
Daisy is about 6-8 months old. The vet said she was closer to 8 tho. She's tall and SKINNY with big feet. She just needs to be fattened up a bit.
He knew the shelter we got her from... he said they tend to hoard the animals but always come around asking for donations and say they only have enough money to operate for 30 days or less if they do not get their donations.
He said that they defeat their own purpose by operating the way they do. He called them holy rollers of the animal world... he said those are the one's you have to watch out for... they are not doing a selfless act as they try to convey, rather point out every single act they preform looking for thanks & appreication.
Did he hit that on the head or what! He basically described our little crazy poster in the last thread!
you know lisaviolet, i am sure magoosmom is a wonderful person and does the best she can for the animals she can. but she also uses all the excuses people use to dump their animals against every potential new adopter. it more or less seemed like she is holding the sins of others against new people she does not even know. her replies to harlys mama were filled with what ifs. that is not right. each new potential adopter should be based on their situation and not be held accountable for the mistakes of others before her.
there are a wide range of people in the rescue world. some are extremists and think there is never any one out there good enough. holy rollers is a term i have heard many times when dealing with rescue people. some have a realistic head on their shoulders and some have a god complex.
it is really sad because it is the animals as always who are paying the price.
how sad you feel that we apparently are not worth your time. you obviously came here with a closed mind and think that the way you do things is the only way. retracting your statements and not bothering to continue a dialogue about this does not help any of us to see your side and in fact only encourages those here to believe that they have been right all along.
its a shame the art of discussion is lost on so many people.
sorry i had to edit out two of your links due ot the rules on this website regarding website links/advertising.
this forum is actually for all animal lovers. there is no distinguishment between cat and dog lovers. most of us on here own both. i would be happy to continue this discussion with you if i am not going to get jumped on on your forum for having a different perspective.
i am going ot go enjoy the bit of afternoon left here and will possibly catch up with you tonite or tomorrow.
i owuld also like for you to at least rethink your feelings regarding this forum as we certainly could use more people on here that know a thing or two about cats.
