I'm just curious about how often people generally give their dogs a bath. I have a Pembroke Welsh Corgi puppy and she's approximately 6 months old now. Ever since getting her, we've given her a bath once a week. She enjoys splashing around and getting groomed and babied afterwards, but I was wondering if we're giving her too many baths or everything is okay? So, how often do you guys chase around the dogs for a bath?
I bath the dogs every 2 months, By then they are so dirty you can't tell their real color.I bath/fluff dry them, condition them, clean their teeth, ears, nails and polish. And mabe some cologne. Leeza get a face shave.
I have to bathe Mandy pretty often because she has allergies. A cool bath seems to help the itching some. I found with my schnauzers that if I leave the conditioner off, they do not seem to get as many matts. They have a real good texture to their fur on their legs anyway and it has really been easier leaving the conditioner off. When they are blow dryed they come out just as soft.
lol, at least your puppy seems to enjoy baths raisu...
my corgi puppy gets bathed on a "when needed" basis. =P so far, about once a month. she doesn't seem to get very dirty, and she doesn't smell. i did read somewhere that corgis don't need to be bathed very often(twice a year was what the book said... which sounded a bit too infrequent, but we'll see i guess...)
The dogs here are never bathed. The adult pointers seem to like dirty, and they live in an outdoor kennel, not indoors (except the one, and she is the only one of our pointers who never does seem to get dirty, even after playing outside all day). Shilo, although she always gets dirty, is always clean by the next day. I have no idea how she manages it.
Riki and Raja haven't been bathed since March and we haven't bathed Romi since we got her in April. Mostly they don't need much in the way of baths unless they decide to roll in something dead. :) Have you ever tried to bathe a Siberian Husky? Getting them wet to the skin is almost impossible, they would much rather dig in the water. My white girl, Raja, seems to mysteriously get clean. She can look filthy one minute and ten minutes later she's clean. Of course, sibes tend to clean themselves a lot like cats do.
I have to daschunds and the older one is a miniature he's 8 yrs. and i give him a bath when ever he stinks! but my other one is a mini/standard and she's 10 wks. i gibe her a bath when ever she starts itching or when ever i want her to smell good
I bathe mine about once per month, they're outside most of the time during summer so they get into a lot of stuff. When winter hits then usually it cuts down to about every 2-3 months or so, since they stay inside more.
